Aleksei Serov was born in 1964 in Narva, which remains his hometown to this day.
In 2022, on the eve of Christmas, the author of the fairy tale visited the Christmas Village of Torma with his family. This small village is located in Jõgevamaa parish, where Aleksei Serov’s ancestors had lived for many generations.
Part of Aleksei’s childhood was spent in Jõgevamaa, a place that still holds warm memories for him. Visiting the Christmas Village of Torma, he was deeply impressed by the beauty of the area and felt energized by the nearby forest.
As a result of this trip, the children’s fairy tale “Christmas in Torma” was born.
