Narva on the 5-kroon banknote of the Republic of Estonia

20,00

At the end of 2010, just before the transition to the euro, Narva Museum acquired 1,100 five-crown banknotes. Five years later, the museum created an exclusive souvenir featuring the 5-crown banknote of the Estonian Republic. The souvenir is a publication that showcases the images on the banknote.

Description

On the front side of the banknote, there is an image of Paul Keres, the famous Estonian chess player. On the reverse side, there is a view of the pre-war image of the Narva and Ivangorod fortresses, which is referred to in Narva as the “five-crown view.”

What makes this souvenir exclusive is the real five-crown banknote placed in a plastic window at the center of the publication. A total of 1,100 copies were produced, with each copy assigned a serial number from 1 to 1,100.

The idea was conceived by Andres Toode, and the design was created by Agnes Ratas. The text is written in both Estonian and English. The souvenir was printed in
England, just like the original five-crown banknote.
This souvenir would make a wonderful addition to any home library, a unique gift, and, of course, a token of respect for the Estonian kroon.
